
The UEC is located in the former home of the Korea Exchange Bank at 49 West 33rd Street in New York City. The school's physical plant is a spacious, air-conditioned suite of offices on the third and fourth floors. The administrative office and classrooms are situated on the third floor. The computer lab, lecture-seminar room, listening comprehension room, and an additional classroom are housed on the fourth floor.
UEC is open daily from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
The Computer Lab is available from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. (For a complete schedule of openings and closings, consult the school calendar.)
UEC is located in at one of the most convenient shopping and transportation hubs in the city.
To the east of our language institute lies the Empire State Building, the architectural symbol of New York City. With many restaurants, boutiques, food stores, 'Little Korea' or 'Korea-town' is just one block to the south on 32nd Street. To the west lies the 'Avenue of the Americas' or Sixth Avenue, which has undergone tremendous growth and revitalization in recent years. One block to the north is 34th Street. Herald Square, the intersection of 34th Street, 6th Avenue and Broadway, is one of the Most vibrant commercial districts in New York City. The 'anchor' of Herald Square is Macy's the largest department store in the world, with 2.1 million square feet of retail space and more than 500,000 items.
The Majority of UEC's students reside in one of the five boroughs of New York City or in the small towns of New Jersey, along the Hudson River such as Hoboken, Fort Lee, or Edgewater. Our institute is conveniently located just one block from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority subway station at Herald Square(the 'D','F','N' lines) and the New Jersey PATH train at Greeley Square on 32nd Street.
Manhattan buses run north along 6th Ave, south along Broadway, and east and west along 34th Street. Penn Station is just one block away to the west at 7th Avenue and 34th Street.
Among comparable language schools of its size, UEC is unique in having its 'campus' in the very center of the 'Big Apple'. Designed to meet the needs of the 'internet generation' ourfacility is fully computerized with a 'T1' network to bring the information resources of the globe to our student body.
