The Test of English as a Foreign Language Course (TOEFL) is held throughout the year and provides Ten (10) hours of instruction per week in listening comprehension, grammar, reading comprehension and essay writing. (The TOEFL course is the 'fifth module' of ELP, described in more detail below.)

This twelve (12) week course develops the advanced English skills necessary to compete successfully at university level and to improve a minimum entry TOEFL score of 213 (or 550 on the old TOEFL scale). The program consists of eight (8) hours of classroom instruction per week and one (1) hour of homework and preparation per day. Students are given the opportunity to take a 'mock' TOEFL exam three times during the course.
It is also possible for students to obtain additional practice by using UEC's CD-ROM library, located in the Computer Lab.
